WHAT IS EATEN (and spent) IN ONE WEEK

I recieved this e-mail from my friend Talicia(thanks). The pictures tell a lot. Take a good look at the diet of each country and the cost of what is eaten in one week. It's amazing on the contrast between countries and size of families. We are so so so blessed.

Germany: The Melander family of Bargteheide
Food expenditure for one week: 375.39 Euros or $500.07

United States: The Revis family of North Carolina
Food expenditure for one week $341.98
I Sure hope most American families eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and less junk food than this family.)

Italy : The Manzo family of Sicily
Food expenditure for one week: 214.36 Euros or $260.11

Mexico: The Casales family of Cuernavaca
Food expenditure for one week: 1,862.78 Mexican Pesos or $189.09

Poland: The Sobczynscy family of Konstancin-Jeziorna
Food expenditure for one week: 582.48 Zlotys or $151.27

Egypt: The Ahmed family of Cairo
Food expenditure for one week: 387.85 Egyptian Pounds or $68.53

Ecuador: The Ayme family of Tingo
Food expenditure for one week: $31.55

Bhutan: The Namgay family of Shingkhey Village
Food expenditure for one week: 224.93 ngultrum or $5.03

Chad: The Aboubakar family of Breidjing Camp
Food expenditure for one week: 685 CFA Francs or $1.23

The end of email said this: "Don't know about you, but right about now, I'm counting my blessings!" As I said in the beginning of this blog, we are so so blessed.

Are we truly blessed? Or are we cursed with over abundance?
Are we happy? Or are we overwhelmed with debt to maintain those blessings?
Our "blessings" have brought us obesity and stress. Our inactivity and over necessity has cursed our very existence--chi chin and live goes on!
In Him we find rest and satisfaction with the very simplest of life--the rest is just a facade or is it a mirage?---hugs, graciela

** Oh Thank you God, for the variety of foods we have available!Yes indeed wew are blessed !! ** Sure there can be a tendency to over-eat, and not exercise enough; which chores at home, school, and working at our jobs is supposed to help us to keep active, but some amount of extra exercise is needed especially if one's daily activities or occupation doesn't require physical exertion. So do *'Be Thankful'* for what we have and seek to not abuse or take it for granted that there will always be a horn of plenty to those of us in the U.S. or other developed nations. **Consider ways you and your family can increase your activity to help burn off those calories, change your eating habits where possible; ** Do some prayer in regards to eating right and staying healthy.**
**Volunteer in programs that help those who haven't got access to a lot of foods, donate when possible to some programs that feed people in your community, such as low-income families, or to people in other countries where there is a limited amount of healthy foods available.** ** Pray for these programs and the people they serve.**Pray before each meal to help you to be spiritually minded of your daily diet.** **Ask God to help you be careful not to eat more than you need.** **Be wise in the foods that you choose.** **Do take care and may God be with you in all things.** **Read health books and find scriptures that relate to your eating habits and staying healthy.** These suggestions are offered to those who may have eating disorders or other problems which can cause over eating, or anyone who knows they need to be concious of the food they consume, and ought to do some sort of exercise everyday if possible.***
**Sincerely in Christ, may you desire to live in harmony with God's Holy Spirit, and seek to do His will and to be an example of one who lives a Spirit-Controled life.** **Walk in the Light** + **Seek to do what is Right!** God Bless...! <<< Stever >>>

I have to ask, in saying "we are so blessed" are we saying Africa is cursed?

commenting on the "we are so blessed" is not because anyone else is cursed. We are so advantaged as a country. Even homeless people got it good. It just sad how America is so worried about a recession and inflation. You know if we were like other countries ecnomies we would be content with what we have. Sadly, America spends millions on things that are over priced and we can deal without. We keep companies like Starbuck's alive by buying into them. We also spend more money than we actually have.
